Privacy Policy
1. Who We Are
Rock ("the App") is developed and distributed by Ron Yahav ("we", "us", or "our") at ronyahav.com. Questions about this policy can be sent to privacy@ronyahav.com.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
Rock does not collect, store, transmit, or share:
- Your name, email address, or any other personal identifiers
- Which specific apps you choose to block
- Usage analytics, crash reports, or telemetry
- Location data
- Device identifiers or IP addresses
- Any information that could be used to identify you or your device
3. Local Storage Only
Rock stores your app selections, session history, and schedules using iOS UserDefaults in a local app group container on your device. This data is shared between the main app and its system extensions (used for blocking) but never leaves your device and is not accessible to any network service.
4. Screen Time API
Rock uses Apple's Family Controls framework and Screen Time API to apply app restrictions during your focus sessions. Rock requests authorization to manage Screen Time on your behalf. This permission is used solely to block and unblock the apps you select. Rock does not read your existing Screen Time data, usage reports, or any information about your app activity history.
5. App Selection Data
When you select apps to block, iOS provides opaque "tokens" that represent those apps. Rock stores these tokens locally to restore your selection between sessions. These tokens cannot be decoded by Rock โ they are handled by iOS and are never transmitted anywhere.
6. Session Logs
Rock stores a local log of your completed focus sessions (start time and duration). This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted, synced, or shared with any third party. You can view this history in the Logs tab.
7. Third-Party Services
Rock does not integrate with any third-party analytics providers, advertising networks, or cloud platforms. The App makes no network requests of any kind.
8. Apple App Store Distribution
Rock is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect usage and crash data as described in Apple's own Privacy Policy. We receive only aggregated, anonymous App Store analytics (number of downloads, territory) and have no access to individual user data through Apple's systems.
9. Children's Privacy
Rock is a productivity utility intended for general audiences. It does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction). Because the App collects no data from anyone, no special measures for children's data are required.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Material changes will be communicated via an App update note on the App Store.
